Drumroaster Coffee started in 2007 out of a small roastery in Cobble Hill, BC — a 3-kilo Turkish roaster, a modest budget, and a family with more combined coffee experience than most have years on the planet.
Geir Oglend pulled his first espresso in 1972 and still handles all of our equipment-related business. Carsen and Courtney grew up in cafés, with Carsen now heading our roasting operation, and Courtney running our cafe. Patricia keeps the whole operation organised, and our food menu on point. Andy handles our wholesale with precision. We’re still in Cobble Hill. Still roasting on-site.
Our approach is straightforward: pay prices that allow mobility, buy consistently year over year, and don’t only chase the top-grade lots - the biggest impacts are made purchasing the larger, 84-85 point lots. Stability matters to producers, and it matters to us.You’ll notice familiar names come through our lineup season after season. That’s intentional.
We ship across Canada, however due to cost constraints, orders to Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut are subject to a small shipping cost.
We roast Sunday-Friday, and ship orders within 24 hours of receipt. Standard shipping times can vary from 1 to 5 business days, depending on the distance the coffee has to travel.
Our roastery is located right next to our cafe. If the door is open, pop your head in and say hi!
We firmly believed quality remains the highest if you order your coffee in whole bean form. We do offer grinding for different settings, however, as every brewer is different, we can't guarantee our grind is ideal for your individual machines, which means sales on all ground coffee are final.
Start with our blends. They're a great representation of what we do. If you want to get a little more adventurous from there, try some of our single origin coffees!

We’re open year-round in Cobble Hill. If you’re passing through on Vancouver Island, we’re a great reason to pull off the highway!
